Pallet dispensers store and release empty pallets onto a conveyor system. There are two main types of pallet dispensers – tyne type and bin type.

Tyne type dispensers lower a full stack of empty pallets onto a conveyor. The tynes then retract and index up one pallet. The tynes then extend and lift the stack off the conveyor, leaving behind the bottom pallet. This pallet is then released into the system as required.

Bin type dispensers utilise small blades rather than tynes. The pallet stack is lifted from the underside using a pneumatic cylinder or airbag. The two pairs of blades release an empty pallet into the system as required. Bin type pallet dispensers are very compact, requiring only half the space of the aforementioned tyne type dispenser.
