Transfers come in many different types and sizes. A transfer differs from a diverter due to the fact the product orientation is altered by 90°. Generally a product transfer uses either roller chain or toothed timing belts to lift and drive the product perpendicular to its original direction of travel. Transfers are capable of lifting almost any type of flat bottomed products, ranging in weights up to 1500Kg. Cycle times are relatively slow, generally around the 5-10 second region depending upon application, conveyor speed and product size and weight. Transfers are suited to roller or pallet chain conveyors only.
