| The Interroll toothed belt driven roller conveyor is a variant of the tangential chain model of conveyor. As its name suggests the power transmission method is via toothed belt, as opposed to chain. A drive station provides power to two central rollers, which then drive the remaining rollers in the system via roller to roller toothed belts.
The toothed belt drive system is ideal for high speed applications, up to 90m/min or 1.5m/sec. Unlike chain systems, toothed belts require no tension adjustments or lubrication. The toothed belt drive system is also extremely quiet and able to meet the most stringent noise requirements.
The conveyor side frames are manufactured from a specially developed Interroll extruded aluminium section. This extrusion is very rigid, allowing a maximum load capacity of 250Kg per metre. The extrusion also provides convenient cavities for cables, air lines and control equipment.
The rollers can be either Interroll 3500 series or 3800 series. Both roller models utilise galvanised steel, PVC or stainless steel construction. Female threaded shafts are standard, assisting in the overall rigidity of the conveyor. The 3500 series rollers use fixed drive heads, whereas the 3800 series use a friction drive head; thus permitting low pressure accumulation.
The entire conveyor drive system is fully enclosed in order to comply with all relevant Australian Standards, whilst providing a very clean, aesthetically pleasing conveyor system. Interroll tangential drive roller conveyor is ideally suited to heavy duty and demanding conveyor applications where reliability, low noise, high speeds and low maintenance are critical factors.
